things my mama made.........


chili.......

and...............

brown sugar brownies........ yummmmmmmmmy

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9 x 9 x 1-3/4 inch pan.
  2. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt and set aside. In large bowl, beat together butter, sugar, egg and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Stir in the flour mixture and the nuts until well blended. Spread evenly in prepared pan. Bake 25-30 minutes or until surface springs back when gently pressed. Cool slightly. While still warm, cut into bars with a sharp knife.

What inspires me.......food



.......and I love italian food 
....... one of my favorite dishes is lasagna bianca

ahhh the joy of eating.........get ready to delight your taste buds........ 

before I begin in the kitchen I always put on a little music that makes me happy....






ok now lets begin--
what you will need--
1 pack no boil lasagna noodles
1 package of shredded parmesan
1package of shredded mozzarella
1 bag of fresh spinach
1 container of ricotta cheese
butter
flour
salt
milk

--------

preheat the oven to 375
puree the spinach and the ricotta set aside
prepare the bechamel sauce as follows--
.......
2 cups milk
4 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons flour
1⁄4 teaspoon salt
Bring milk just to the barest boil in one pan-- In another pan melt butter, add flour, and stir with a wooden spoon for 2 minutes; remove from heat. Add the hot milk very slowly, stirring continuously. Place pan over low heat and add the salt. Cook, still stirring continuously, until it resembles thick cream.

pour into a 9 by 12 in. dish your first layer of bechamel
add one layer of the noodles
spread some of the puree on top
add more bechamel
throw in some parmesean and mozerella
add another layer of noodles
and more puree and bechamel
top with cheese (be generous) ;)




















yummy............................
a little green salad and
a spicy bottle of cahors pairs well with the menu.....
